Rachael Cassar’s Collection Walks the Studio NEON Runway

When the lovely and talented fashion designer Rachael Cassar came to us searching for the perfect location to show her collection on the runway, we were thrilled to offer up Studio NEON.

The prospect of a runway in our studio may have seemed a challenge to the untrained eye - but with a little elbow grease and a whole lot of ambition we were able to pull it off!

Please enjoy some shots from the specatcular show below:

From the Designer:
‘I first started being interested in eco fashion without really knowing what eco fashion was. As a child and teenager, I was obsessed with making something new out of anything I found. Initially my interest was jewellery. I used to search for second hand jewellery items, dismantled them and made new items up to my on design. I then started doing the same thing with clothes -finding second hand clothes and changing them in various ways. By my mid teens, my path was set. Fashion design was my goal. I studied Fashion and Textile Design at the University of Technology Sydney and graduated in 2006. In my final year I used the concept of deconstruction in my Final Collections and have adhered to this since then. Deconstruction is the concept of sourcing second hand materials and using them in my designs.’
